“Love” conveys intensity and tenderness. I approached the blank white paper as if slicing it with black ink. The balance
between ink shades and blank spaces thus creates a spatial beauty, just like how the
opposite feelings of intensity and tenderness can combine to form a beautiful love.

“Play” reflects freedom with a refined
elegance. Calligraphy is both an art of sumi ink and an interplay between black and white
spaces that complete each other. As an artist, I have the freedom to integrate my varied
